Maryam Nawaz honors APS martyrs on 10th anniversary

On the 10th anniversary of the tragic Army Public School (APS) Peshawar attack, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs, noting that the sorrow from that day continues to echo across Pakistan.

“December 16, 2014, remains a dark day in the hearts of all Pakistanis,” Maryam Nawaz said, reflecting on the horrific attack when terrorists took the lives of 147 innocent children and teachers.

She added, “These young students, who dreamed of guiding the future of Pakistan through education, were tragically lost to the cruelty of terrorism.”

Maryam emphasized that the APS attack was not only an assault on a school, but on the values of humanity, education, and Pakistan’s bright future. “The sacrifices made by these students and teachers have taught us that eradicating terrorism is a must, and we must do everything in our power to achieve this,” she said.

The Chief Minister praised the courage and resilience of the parents and families of the APS martyrs, calling their strength truly inspiring. She reminded the nation that the dreams of the 147 martyrs for a better Pakistan must be realized.

“We will continue our fight against terrorism until we emerge victorious,” Maryam Nawaz concluded, paying tribute to those who lost their lives in one of the country’s most tragic events.
