Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council, stated on Friday that any political dialogue excluding PTI Chairman Imran Khan (“minus Imran” talks) would be unacceptable. Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, he emphasized that only Imran Khan can set the guidelines for such discussions. While internal party discussions are ongoing, formal negotiations with the government have not yet begun.
Senator Ali Zafar clarified that PTI is not “desperate” for talks, dismissing the misconception that the party is seeking negotiations at any cost. He outlined two conditions for dialogue: the release of PTI workers from jail and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of November 24.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, reiterated PTI’s readiness to engage in talks with all political parties. He shared that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had already formed a committee for dialogue and urged the National Assembly Speaker to facilitate talks between the government and opposition. Ayub emphasized that political dialogue is essential for the country’s progress, and PTI leaders stressed that any dialogue must be inclusive and conditional to ensure political stability.
