Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor conclude shooting for Abir Gulaal in London

Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor Wrap Up Filming for Abir Gulaal After 40-Day London Schedule

Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor have completed the shoot for their much-anticipated film Abir Gulaal following an intense 40-day schedule in London, as reported by Filmfare.

Fans of both stars have been eagerly awaiting updates on this unique cross-cultural project. The wrap-up marks a significant step towards the film’s release.

Directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, known for Chalti Rahe Zindagi, Abir Gulaal narrates the story of two individuals whose lives intertwine unexpectedly, leading to mutual healing and the blossoming of love.

Produced by Vivek B. Agrawal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy under Indian Stories, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures, the film promises an emotionally profound narrative supported by standout performances.

In the film, Khan portrays a UK-based chef, a distinct departure from his usual roles, showcasing his versatility.

The film’s release strategy includes debuting at international film festivals to build acclaim before its theatrical release, expected in the latter half of 2025 for Indian audiences. Availability in Pakistan remains uncertain.

Producers previously expressed optimism about the project, stating in October that Fawad’s global fan base would warmly embrace the film.

The completion of Abir Gulaal is particularly significant given the socio-political backdrop. Since 2016, an unofficial ban has prevented Pakistani artists from working in Indian films. However, a turning point came in 2023 when the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition seeking to formalize this restriction, emphasizing the unifying power of art.

The court noted, “Arts, music, sports, and culture transcend nationalities and borders, fostering peace and harmony.”
