Two soldiers were martyred in a suicide bomb blast targeting a security forces convoy in Dera Ismail Khan, according to a report by the military’s media wing on Friday.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that a vehicle-borne suicide bomber attacked the convoy on March 21 (Thursday).
Consequently, two brave sons of soil, Naib Subedar Yasir Shakeel, 38, a resident of District Kohat, and Sepoy Tahir Naveed, 34, also from District Kohat, embraced shahadat (martyrdom),” the ISPR said.
The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces are resolute in eliminating terrorism, and the sacrifices of these brave soldiers further strengthen their determination.
“Moreover, the perpetrators of this cowardly attack will be brought to justice,” it added.
In a separate operation on Thursday, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, resulting in the death of one terrorist and injuries to two others, as per the ISPR.
The IBO, carried out on the night of March 20-21, effectively targeted the terrorists’ location, leading to the killing of militant Chakar Liaquat and injuries to two others. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, who was said to be “actively involved in numerous terrorist activities.
