Lahore’s district administration inspected 2,576 shops, markets, and malls over the past 24 hours, sealing 50 establishments for violating anti-smog standard operating procedures (SOPs). In addition, fines totaling Rs 20,000 were imposed on offenders at 59 locations.
Assistant Commissioners (ACs) throughout the city led the inspections, with AC Model Town taking the lead by sealing 10 shops and imposing Rs 20,000 in fines. Other ACs from areas like Raiwind, Shalimar, and Allama Iqbal Town also sealed multiple shops for non-compliance.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza urged citizens to cooperate in the fight against smog and highlighted the importance of strict enforcement. Residents are encouraged to report violations through the DC office control room via WhatsApp at 03070002345.
