PBBC delegation visits ADB headquarters in Islamabad

A high-level delegation from the Pakistan-UK Business Council (PBBC) visited the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) headquarters in Islamabad, where they met with the bank’s President and CEO.

The delegation, led by PBBC Chairman Mr. John Ticknatt CMG MBE, included PBBC’s Chief Executive and Trade Champion Mr. Rashid Iqbal, along with other officials. During the meeting, both parties recognized the significant potential for collaboration between Pakistan and the UK, particularly in agriculture, food security, and climate change.

Discussions centered around areas such as trade, agricultural mechanization, and capacity building. The PBBC delegation commended the ADB’s efforts, including a documentary showcasing the bank’s initiatives to promote financial inclusion for small farmers and rural women.

Mr. Rashid Iqbal expressed PBBC’s interest in deepening ties with the ADB, mentioning that a detailed proposal for further cooperation would be shared soon. The delegation is visiting Pakistan at the government’s invitation to attend the IDEAS Expo in Karachi.
