The federal cabinet is set to convene at 4 pm today at the Prime Minister’s House to deliberate on a 21-point agenda covering key economic and policy matters.
Discussions will include reviewing tariffs for eight bagasse power plants, such as JDW and Chiniot Power. The cabinet will also assess efforts to meet tax collection targets and consider a proposal to allow business-class travel for ministers and federal secretaries.
The meeting is expected to approve the State Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill 2024. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will provide updates on the renewal of MoUs for Pakistan Chairs abroad and the establishment of the Islamabad Central Business District Development Authority.
Other items on the agenda include a committee report on stabilizing urea prices, classifying the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation as a strategic institution, and restructuring the price control committee for medicines.
