KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur dismisses Mashal Yousafzai as special assistant

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has officially removed Mashal Yousafzai from her position as Special Assistant, with the Chief Minister’s Secretariat issuing a formal notification confirming the decision. Yousafzai, who also serves as the spokesperson for Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan, acknowledged her dismissal. She linked the decision to comments she made during an interview with a private TV channel.

This marks the second time Mashal Yousafzai has been removed from a key role. Earlier, she was dismissed from her position as an advisor to the Chief Minister. The latest move adds to the ongoing political shifts within PTI, signaling potential internal rifts within the party. Yousafzai’s removal comes in the wake of increasing tensions among PTI leadership.

The growing discontent within the party is further evidenced by the resignations of several prominent figures. Salman Akram Raja and Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the Chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council, both recently stepped down from their important roles in PTI, which has raised concerns about the party’s internal stability.

These developments coincide with PTI’s recent ‘final call’ protest in Islamabad’s D-Chowk, further emphasizing the party’s ongoing struggles and the challenges facing its leadership. The political landscape within PTI appears to be increasingly volatile, as divisions continue to surface among its ranks.
