Rubina Khalid, the Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), emphasized the organization’s commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of its beneficiaries through technical training and improved job opportunities. Speaking at a review meeting held in Islamabad, Khalid shared that BISP had garnered considerable interest from several prominent organizations, including the Lives and Livelihoods Fund, the Women Empowerment Wing, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. These entities expressed a keen desire to collaborate with BISP on skill development initiatives aimed at empowering underprivileged communities.
During the meeting, Khalid directed senior officials of BISP to draft a concept note that would outline potential collaboration projects with these international organizations. She stressed the importance of utilizing the financial resources and technical expertise of these partners to effectively address the needs of BISP’s target populations.
Khalid further highlighted that such partnerships would play a crucial role in equipping individuals with the necessary skills to secure stable employment, thus contributing to poverty alleviation and socio-economic development.
