AJK President vows quick resolution of Kotli’s issues

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has committed to prioritizing the resolution of issues in Kotli district. Speaking at a large public gathering at Captain House, hosted by Kotli Mayor Chaudhry Muhammad Taj on Wednesday, President Chaudhry outlined key development plans and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to addressing public concerns.

Among the major announcements, President Chaudhry revealed that construction of significant roads and link roads in Kotli will soon begin. He also introduced a health initiative valued at over 800 million rupees, describing it as a “revolutionary step” in improving the healthcare sector and creating hundreds of employment opportunities. The president further pledged an education package to enhance the region’s educational infrastructure.

During his visit, the president expressed appreciation for the warm welcome he received in Kotli and paid tribute to his late associate, Captain Sadruddin, for his devoted service to the community.

Barrister Chaudhry also condemned India’s ongoing human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir, particularly following the revocation of the region’s special status on August 5, 2019. He highlighted the continued oppression, with over 100,000 lives lost, thousands imprisoned, and families torn apart, emphasizing solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and urging them to raise their voices for the right to self-determination.

The gathering, chaired by Presidential Advisor Chaudhry Muhammad Mehboob, also saw speeches from Finance Minister Chaudhry Akhlaq, Minister for Higher Education Malik Zafar, and other key figures.
