D-Chowk Protest Cleared by Security Forces, Peace Restored in Islamabad

Islamabad has returned to normal following the successful operation by security forces to clear the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters from D-Chowk and the surrounding areas. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited key sites between D-Chowk and Khyber Plaza to assess the aftermath of the operation and the efforts of law enforcement agencies in restoring order.

During his visit, Minister Naqvi met with officers from the Rangers, Islamabad Police, Punjab Police, Sindh Police, Frontier Constabulary (FC), and the Pakistan Army. He praised the professionalism and bravery of the personnel, acknowledging their role in restoring peace and ensuring the safety of the public. “I deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of our law enforcement agencies,” Naqvi said. “The conspiracy to create instability has been thwarted, marking a significant victory for Pakistan and its people.”

As part of his visit, the Interior Minister inspected the cleared areas, instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to clean the roads, and evaluated the damage to infrastructure. He emphasized the swift removal of any remaining road blockages to fully restore normalcy.

Security sources confirmed that no firearms were used during the operation and dismissed social media claims regarding casualties among protesters. These reports were labeled as part of a “fabricated propaganda campaign” aimed at misleading the public. A security official clarified, “The operation was conducted with restraint and professionalism.”

In unverified reports, it was suggested that PTI figures, including Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, fled the area during the operation. However, authorities have not confirmed these reports.

With peace restored, the government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining order and countering any attempts to destabilize the nation.
