CM Bugti: targeted operations launched to eliminate terrorist camps

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti acknowledged the presence of terrorist camps in Balochistan on Monday and stated that government forces were conducting targeted operations to eliminate terrorism in the province.

Speaking to journalists following a provincial assembly session, he criticized political parties opposing the operations and urged them to propose alternative solutions to tackle terrorism other than military action.

“They should present their suggestions and recommendations for eradicating terrorism, and the government will implement them,” CM Bugti said. He highlighted the severity of the situation, noting that terrorists were operating openly, kidnapping children, and attacking civilians and security personnel.

When asked about rumors regarding a potential change in the chief ministership, he responded, “I have no knowledge of any such discussions.” He emphasized that members of the PPP, PML-N, and other lawmakers in the Balochistan Assembly had expressed their confidence in him, adding that no no-confidence motion had been submitted against him so far, which he considered an honor.

Bugti reiterated his commitment to serving the province for as long as the opportunity remained.

Meeting with HEC Delegation

In a separate meeting with a Higher Education Commission (HEC) delegation led by its chairman, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, the chief minister stressed the importance of preventing anti-state indoctrination among students. He pointed out that organized groups in several universities across Balochistan and the country were promoting such sentiments.

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, cabinet members Sadiq Umrani and Bakht Mohammad Kakar, MPA Asghar Tareen, and senior officials.

CM Bugti announced plans to organize a national conference to raise awareness about this issue and address it comprehensively.
