The Punjab government has eased smog-related restrictions following a decline in smog intensity, as announced by Dr. Imran Hamed Sheikh, Director General of Environment.
Under the updated guidelines, construction work is now allowed to resume in Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, and Faisalabad, and brick kilns using zig-zag technology are permitted to operate. Both government and private offices can now function at full capacity.
The notification also permits heavy traffic to enter these districts from Monday to Thursday, though it will remain prohibited from Friday to Sunday. The 8 PM closure of shops, markets, and malls continues to be in effect, while indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants can run until 10 PM. Additionally, barbecues must install hood systems to mitigate air pollution.
