Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has formally urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to convene an urgent session of the Council of Common Interest (CCI) to address the critical economic and internal challenges facing the provinces.
In a letter to the prime minister, Gandapur emphasized that a CCI meeting would provide an important platform to discuss key issues between the federal government and the provinces. He reminded the prime minister that, under Article 154 of the Constitution, the CCI is required to meet every 90 days to ensure effective collaboration on crucial matters.
“The last CCI session was held in January this year,” he noted in the letter, stressing the importance of holding meetings more frequently to promote problem-solving and strengthen the relationship between the federal government and the provinces.
