Intermittent rainfall has been sweeping across Islamabad, bringing light to moderate showers and a welcome chill to the capital’s atmosphere. Some areas, particularly the G-10 sector, have even experienced hailstorms, which have intensified the cold and further lowered temperatures.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an updated forecast predicting more rain to continue through the weekend. Showers are expected to persist on Saturday night, with weather experts forecasting rainfall across various regions of the country. Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala are expected to be some of the main areas affected.
In addition to these regions, several other cities, including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Dera Ismail Khan, are also anticipated to receive rain. The weather conditions are not limited to the plains, as mountainous areas across the country are set to experience precipitation as well. This includes regions like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur, along with parts of Malakand, Bajaur, Mardan, Mohmand, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Peshawar, Khyber, Kohat, and Kurram.
In Balochistan, cities including Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Qilla Saifullah, Zhob, Loralai, and Barkhan are also expected to witness rain. Additionally, the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan may see snow, adding to the winter-like conditions.
The persistent rain, combined with cooler temperatures, is expected to continue over the next few days, offering some relief from the recent heat. However, the wet weather may pose challenges for travel and daily activities in many areas.
