Ghulam Fatima’s Five-Wicket Haul Leads Invincibles to Victory Over Conquerors
Ghulam Fatima’s impressive five-wicket performance guided the Invincibles to a six-wicket win over Conquerors in their National Women’s One-day Tournament match at the UBL Sports Complex on Tuesday.
At HPC Oval Ground, Aliya Riaz’s unbeaten century was not enough as the Strikers defeated the Challengers by 23 runs.
Conquerors, batting first, were dismissed for 116 in 44.1 overs, with only four batters reaching double figures. Fatima was the standout performer with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 17 runs in 10 overs, including four maidens.
In reply, the Invincibles chased down the target in 25.1 overs, losing four wickets along the way. Captain Muneeba Ali top-scored with 38 off 55 balls, hitting five boundaries.
In the Challengers vs. Strikers match, the Strikers posted a total of 226 in 42.3 overs, led by a blistering 141 off 97 balls by Eyman Fatima. Her knock included 11 fours and 12 sixes, while captain Nida Dar contributed 31 off 43 balls. Challengers’ Maham Manzoor and Zaib-un-Nisa took three wickets each.
Despite a valiant 107 not out from Aliya Riaz (107* off 121, 15 fours, 1 six), Challengers were bowled out for 203 in 44.2 overs. Strikers’ Anam Amin and Muqadas Bukhari each took two wickets.
