US President-elect Donald Trump urged Russian President Vladimir Putin not to escalate the situation in Ukraine during a phone call, according to a report on Sunday.
The conversation, which took place on Thursday, saw Trump remind Putin of the significant US military presence in Europe.
If confirmed, this would be the first discussion between the two leaders since Trump’s victory in the Nov. 5 presidential election.
