Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon Kill 30, Including 7 Children, Amid Ongoing Conflict

Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon on Sunday resulted in at least 30 deaths, including seven children, according to the Health Ministry.

The ministry reported that a strike in the eastern town of Aalamat, located in the Jbeil district, killed 23 people, including the children, with six others injured. Rescue operations are still underway, with authorities warning that the death toll may rise as search efforts continue.

Additionally, the ministry confirmed that three people were killed and two injured in an airstrike on Mashghara, a town in eastern Lebanon. Another strike in Sohmor, in the western Bekaa region, claimed one life and left four others injured.

The Health Ministry also stated that three paramedics died in an Israeli airstrike on a healthcare center in the town of Aadloun in southern Lebanon.

This deadly air campaign, which began in late September, is part of Israel’s ongoing efforts against Hezbollah targets. It marks an escalation in cross-border hostilities, which have intensified since the outbreak of the Gaza war. Lebanese health authorities report that more than 3,100 people have been killed and over 13,800 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023.

Israel launched a ground assault into southern Lebanon on October 1.
