Punjab’s ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ program disburses initial funds to over 850 applicants.

In a pivotal step toward providing housing for low-income families, the Punjab government has successfully issued the first installment payment to over 850 applicants under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” initiative, championed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

This program aims to ensure that affordable housing becomes a reality for the people of Punjab. To date, more than 60 crore rupees have been disbursed to various beneficiaries throughout the province, helping individuals in their quest to build their own homes.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her contentment with the progress of this initiative, highlighting that numerous houses are nearing completion, thus bringing the dream of homeownership within reach for many families. She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that every homeless Pakistani has access to the essential blessing of a home.

The verification process for applications took place from August 21 to August 31, guaranteeing that only eligible candidates receive financial support. Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also directed assembly members to visit districts personally, along with Deputy Commissioners, to supervise the distribution process and congratulate the successful applicants. Additionally, members of the Provincial Assembly will be delivering congratulatory letters on behalf of the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister further reiterated her resolve to continue the legacy of former Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, emphasizing their significant contributions to the development and prosperity of the nation. “We are united in this journey toward progress and prosperity,” she stated.

Under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program, successful applicants can now begin constructing their homes following the transfer of the first installment into their accounts. This scheme is anticipated to significantly enhance housing opportunities for numerous families throughout the province, addressing a critical need in the community.
