ATC grants bail to PTI leader Azam Swati in protest case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered the release of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati in a case related to protests. Judge Abul Hasnat presided over the hearing and granted Swati post-arrest bail, requiring surety bonds of Rs 20,000 each.

Earlier, a special court had issued an arrest warrant for Swati, a former federal minister, due to his failure to attend hearings linked to a controversial tweet case. Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand had directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to apprehend Swati and bring him before the court.

Swati was originally arrested by the FIA on November 27 of last year at his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad, Islamabad, after he allegedly posted tweets criticizing state institutions.
