Pakistani scriptwriter and satirist Anwar Maqsood has addressed the rumors surrounding his alleged abduction and assault, vehemently denying all claims in a recent video statement. The veteran artist reassured his loved ones and admirers of his safety and well-being.

In the widely circulated video across social media platforms, Maqsood addressed the speculation about his condition. While expressing gratitude for the concern shown by his fans and acquaintances, he stressed that the reports of his abduction were entirely unfounded.

“Hello, I’m Anwar Maqsood. You may know me, and I know many of you,” Maqsood began. “Recently, there have been rumors circulating that have caused distress. I have supporters worldwide, and I’ve received calls from every corner, every country asking about my well-being. I want to assure everyone that I’m perfectly fine. None of what you’ve heard is true, nor will it be.”

At 84 years old, Maqsood dismissed the idea of being physically harmed, citing his age as a reason why such claims were implausible. “I’m 84 years old. I wouldn’t survive a slap, let alone a heavy beating. It simply didn’t happen. I’m doing well,” he affirmed. Maqsood also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the soldiers serving at the borders, emphasizing that his sentiments were genuine and not coerced.

Regarding the misinformation, Maqsood highlighted the prevalence of fake social media accounts using his name and image. He displayed his basic phone, lacking a camera, to underscore his inability to engage in social media activity. “This is my phone. It doesn’t even have a camera. How could I possibly tweet? There are numerous fake accounts with my picture. I’ve alerted authorities, but they’ve been unable to shut them down,” he explained.

In conclusion, Maqsood reiterated his unwavering dedication to Pakistan and its people. “As long as I’m alive, I’ll continue to serve Pakistan and its citizens. Long live Pakistan,” he declared, emphasizing his steadfast commitment to his country and profession.

Maqsood’s resolute denial and plea for calm come amid heightened anxiety following baseless rumors regarding his safety. As he reassures his audience, his words underscore the importance of verifying information and exercising caution in today’s digital age.
