On Thursday, Parvez Elahi, President of PTI and currently incarcerated, endorsed nomination papers for the PP-32 by-election in Gujrat while attending a special court session (central-I) related to a money laundering case conducted by the FIA.
FIA officials transferred Mr. Elahi from Adiala jail to Lahore for the hearing.
During the court proceedings, a PTI leader’s lawyer requested permission for Mr. Elahi to sign the nomination papers for the upcoming by-poll on the Punjab Assembly seat. This seat became vacant after the winning candidate, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, opted to retain his National Assembly seat.
