Senior PTI leader Omar Ayub on Monday dismissed rumors of a divide within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reaffirming the party’s unity under Imran Khan’s leadership. Speaking to the media outside the court, Ayub firmly stated, “PTI has no bloc other than the Imran Khan bloc,” underscoring the party’s strong commitment to its core ideology. He criticized the current administration, calling it an “artificial government” that lacks the ability to effectively govern the country.
Ayub also expressed confidence in Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, hoping he would carry out his duties with impartiality. His comments come amidst ongoing speculation following show-cause notices reportedly issued to some party members connected to the 26th Amendment approval. Ayub clarified PTI’s stance, confirming that Salman Akram Raja has taken on the role of PTI’s general secretary and that no notice was issued to Zain Qureshi. He also took aim at the government’s handling of the 26th Amendment, highlighting the lack of necessary votes, the absence of reserved seats for women from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and an insufficient number of Senate members.
