Welcoming Oyun-Erdene, Shehbaz highlighted that the visit opened a new chapter in bilateral relations, emphasizing the potential for enhanced cooperation across various sectors. He congratulated the Mongolian Prime Minister on his re-election and expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Mongolia relations. Shehbaz proposed several initiatives to expand collaboration, particularly in areas like trade, investment, and fostering stronger people-to-people connections. One of his notable suggestions was to invite Mongolian civil servants for training in Pakistan, offering a valuable opportunity for mutual learning. He also proposed declaring 2025 as the “Year of Pakistan-Mongolia Friendship,” symbolizing their intent to take relations to a new level.

In response, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s warm hospitality and praised Shehbaz’s leadership in successfully hosting the SCO Council meeting. Both leaders agreed on establishing a Joint Ministerial Commission, which would focus on collaboration in key sectors such as trade, tourism, agriculture, and mining.
