The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched its second consignment of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, following directives from the Prime Minister of Pakistan. This shipment, weighing approximately 100 tons, departed from Karachi on Thursday in partnership with the Al-Khidmat Foundation.
The aid package includes essential items such as medicines, ready-to-eat meat, tents, tarpaulins, winter clothing, bedding, and powdered milk. It was flown from Jinnah International Airport to Beirut. The send-off ceremony was attended by representatives from the NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Khidmat Foundation, and local officials.
During the event, speakers highlighted the urgent need to support the war-affected populations of Gaza and Lebanon, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to providing relief. This shipment marks Pakistan’s 12th aid consignment to the region, which includes 10 shipments to Palestine and two to Lebanon.
Additionally, the government announced the establishment of a “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” to collect public donations for those affected by the ongoing conflict.
