Six injured in Korangi clash; section 144 imposed in karachi

Tensions boiled over in Korangi’s Awami Colony on Sunday as two religious groups clashed, leading to aerial firing and a riot that left six people injured.

The violence erupted after rising tensions between the groups, plunging the area into chaos. Police quickly arrived on the scene and managed to restore order, with law enforcement now stationed in the area to prevent any further incidents. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the clash, while authorities work to keep the peace.

In response to the unrest and heightened security concerns, the Karachi administration has enforced Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) across the city from October 13 to October 17. The measure, recommended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon, bans gatherings of five or more people, processions, and public meetings to ensure public safety.

A notification from the city administration stressed the importance of maintaining law and order during this time, warning of potential threats to the city’s peace. Citizens have been urged to follow the restrictions to prevent further incidents.
