Minister for Information Atta Tarar announced that there will be zero tolerance for any disruptions during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad, set to take place on October 15-16. In response to planned protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the same day, Tarar indicated that strict measures would be enforced against any attempts to disturb the event.
Speaking to reporters, Tarar reassured that Islamabad has been thoroughly secured to host foreign delegations, including 12 heads of state. He expressed confidence that the summit will proceed as scheduled, enhancing Pakistan’s international standing and promoting economic growth. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally overseeing the arrangements for the event.
In contrast, PTI has announced a protest at D-Chowk on October 15, demanding the release of their detained workers and leaders while condemning what they describe as ‘unlawful’ raids and arrests
