PTI’s Sheikh Waqas Akram issues warning to government ahead of october 15 protests

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram announced that PTI leadership will be hitting the streets on October 15 to protest against the government. Speaking on Dunya News’ talk show “Tonight with Samar Abbas” on Saturday, Akram warned that the government will bear full responsibility if anything goes wrong during the demonstrations.

He also made it clear that neither PTI nor its founder, Imran Khan, are acting against Pakistan’s interests. Akram voiced concerns over the restrictions on meetings with Khan, who remains in jail, and called for fair treatment. He urged the courts to allow Khan to meet with his family, emphasizing that these visits are a basic human right.

When asked about the much-talked-about constitutional amendment, Akram criticized the government for failing to produce a draft of the proposed changes. He did, however, commend the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for at least sharing their version of the draft, highlighting the government’s inaction. The planned protests and Akram’s remarks underscore the increasing political tensions between the opposition and the government as unrest in Pakistan continues to grow.
