IU starts her debut world tour with a crowd of 60,000 in Seoul

In the afternoon of March 10th, the lights dimmed gradually as South Korea’s 31-year-old singer IU, also known as Lee Ji-eun, graced the stage at the KSPO Dome of the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Songpa-gu, Seoul. As the initial notes of her iconic song ‘Through the Night’ filled the air, starting with the word “tonight,” the 14,000 fans waved their green cheering rods in perfect unison, reminiscent of fireflies mentioned in the lyrics, as if proclaiming, “We’ll fill this venue till we’re in our 70s.”

This event marked the kickoff of IU’s first world tour, titled ‘H.E.R,’ held at 5 p.m. in this venue, commemorating 16 years since her debut. Commencing with the Seoul concert on February 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th, with ticket prices ranging from 132,000 won to 165,000 won, IU is scheduled to perform in 18 cities across 12 countries, including Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, and the United States. Notably, this marks her inaugural solo concert tour in the English-speaking world outside of Asia.

The six-city concert series in the United States, offering 106,000 seats, sold out immediately upon ticket release.
