A high-ranking Saudi delegation, led by Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh, the Minister for Investment of Saudi Arabia, convened with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Thursday. This meeting highlights the ongoing collaboration and friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The delegation, which comprised senior government officials and prominent business leaders, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two countries. During their discussions, General Munir underscored the significance of the delegation’s visit, noting that the presence of influential Saudi business figures underscores the deep-rooted relationship between the nations. According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the leaders delved into various matters of mutual interest and explored potential avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation. General Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia.
The COAS also expressed gratitude to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued backing of Pakistan.
Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh and his delegation arrived in Pakistan on October 9 (Wednesday) for an official three-day visit. Upon their arrival at Islamabad Airport, they were warmly welcomed by Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Petroleum Muhammad Musadik Malik, and other senior officials.
During their stay, the Saudi delegation is engaging in business-to-business meetings with Pakistani companies, focusing on bolstering trade and investment between the two nations. Several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be finalized.
Additionally, Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh is scheduled to meet with the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to discuss further opportunities for cooperation, signifying the importance of this diplomatic visit for both countries.
