The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly session has been rescheduled for today (Wednesday) at 3 PM after a chaotic meeting on Tuesday forced an abrupt adjournment until October 14.
According to the Assembly Secretariat, the decision to reconvene the session sooner than planned follows a heated confrontation between government and opposition members during yesterday’s proceedings. The conflict arose when opposition members, frustrated by being denied the chance to speak, became involved in a physical altercation with assembly members.
The clash escalated between two PTI lawmakers, Naik Wazir and Iqbal Wazir, and their supporters, which further heightened the disorder in the assembly hall. In response, the Speaker called for a 15-minute break, which ultimately led to the session being adjourned.
Later, the Speaker invited both Iqbal Wazir and Naik Muhammad to his chamber for discussions, where reconciliation was achieved. Key members from both sides participated in the peace talks, successfully resolving the conflict.
Today’s session, scheduled to start at 3 PM, aims to tackle the issues that were left unresolved during the last meeting. However, increased security measures and efforts to maintain order are expected to prevent a recurrence of the chaos seen on Tuesday.
