Saudi Crown Prince offers comfort on King’s health

During a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reassured everyone about the health of King Salman.

According to the state news agency SPA, the crown prince “expressed gratitude to all those who inquired” and confirmed that the king, who holds the title of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is doing well.

This statement came just two days after the Saudi Royal Court announced that King Salman was undergoing medical tests for a lung inflammation.

In recent years, the king has faced a few health challenges. In May 2022, he was hospitalized for a colonoscopy and other tests, and in 2020, he underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder.

King Salman has been ruling Saudi Arabia since 2015, following two and a half years as crown prince.
