Krystyna Pyszkova of Czech Rebulic crowned as Miss World 2024


In Mumbai, India, Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World during a glamorous contest held on Saturday night. Among 112 contestants, Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon secured the first runner-up position in the competition, which took place in Mumbai, India’s bustling financial and entertainment hub.

“It’s an absolute honor to be crowned Miss World. Representing my country and promoting the values of ‘beauty with a purpose’ globally is truly a dream come true,” expressed Pyszková after receiving the crown from the reigning Miss World, Karoline Bielawska of Poland. Pyszková greeted the enthusiastic crowd at the Jio World Convention Center and shared hugs with fellow contestants.

The event highlighted the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture, showcasing its traditions, heritage, arts, crafts, and textiles to a vast global audience. Participants adorned heavily embroidered attire and performed to popular Bollywood tunes. This beauty competition marked the return to India after 28 years.

Among the contestants, India’s Sini Shetty reached the final eight before exiting the competition. India has seen success in the Miss World pageant, with six women from the country winning the title, including Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).

The 71st Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar alongside Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the Philippines.
