Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has voiced significant alarm over the global indifference towards the plight of innocent Palestinians. In her message on Palestine Solidarity Day, she asserted that the struggle of Palestinians is not just a local issue but one that resonates on a worldwide scale. Her remarks underscore the critical need for international attention and action in addressing the ongoing injustices faced by the Palestinian people.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Palestinians have long been fighting for their fundamental rights, freedom, and rightful ownership of their land. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to supporting Palestinian rights, highlighting that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) remains vocal in condemning Israeli oppression across various forums. This unwavering stance reflects Pakistan’s historical support for Palestine, reinforcing the importance of solidarity among nations in the face of injustice.
In addition, she praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his relentless advocacy concerning Palestine and Kashmir, asserting that both the government and the citizens of Pakistan stand united with the Palestinian people. Maryam Nawaz pointed out that sustainable global peace cannot be achieved without a fair resolution to the Palestinian issue that aligns with the desires and rights of the Palestinian populace.
Moreover, the Chief Minister urged international organizations to intervene and protect Palestinian rights, emphasizing the urgency for global leaders to take a stand. Senator Sherry Rehman echoed these sentiments, stressing that the nation will collectively raise its voice against Israeli actions, which have reportedly resulted in the tragic deaths of approximately 42,000 Palestinians, including a staggering 16,000 children.
Rehman further warned that Israel’s aggression poses a threat not only to Palestine but also to the stability of neighboring regions, including Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and Syria. She highlighted the devastating impacts of this aggression, which has led to the destruction of essential infrastructure, a collapsing economy, and widespread displacement of millions of Palestinians.
To show solidarity with the Palestinian cause, an All Parties Conference (APC) is set to take place today at 3 PM at the Aiwan-i-Sadr, jointly hosted by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This gathering aims to unify various political factions in support of Palestine, emphasizing the importance of collective action in advocating for the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.
