The opposition parties in Sindh, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), and the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), to mark February 8th as ‘Black Day’ to protest alleged irregularities in the 2024 elections. They will aim to highlight what they describe as a “stolen mandate” and demand action against unlawful practices.
PTI Sindh leaders such as Haleem Adil Sheikh, Raja Azhar, and Arsalan Khalid are expected to lead demonstrations in Karachi. Rally participants will likely display images of Form 45 and photos of alleged beneficiaries of the rigged elections on their vehicles, urging citizens to stand against electoral misconduct.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has announced plans to hold a major protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan, Sindh. He will call for accountability over the alleged manipulation of last year’s elections.
The GDA is also planning to stage demonstrations across Sindh. They will not only protest alleged vote rigging but will also raise their voices against rising unemployment, worsening law and order, and controversial laws like PECA.
Through these collaborative actions, the opposition parties aim to pressure authorities to address their grievances, restore transparency in the electoral process, and bring necessary reforms for the future of Pakistan.
