Balochistan grand jirga urges for peace.

A major tribal jirga in Balochistan’s Pishin district brought together provincial and military leaders, tribal elders, women, and local residents to address regional issues and explore peace strategies.

Key attendees included Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Commander Balochistan Corps Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, IG FC (North) Abid Mazhar, senior civil and military officials, along with tribal elders and representatives from various community sectors, including women.

During the jirga, participants engaged with community representatives to discuss grievances and find solutions to the region’s pressing challenges.

Governor Kakar emphasized that the purpose of the event was to bridge the gap between the public and authorities. “This peace jirga is designed to listen to the people’s concerns and ensure quick resolutions,” he said.

Chief Minister Bugti highlighted the significance of jirgas in fostering peace. “Our goal is to bring Balochistan toward peace through dialogue. Where force is necessary, it will be used. But where negotiations can resolve issues, we will prioritize discussions,” he stated.

Commander Balochistan Corps Lt. Gen. Rahat Naseem reaffirmed the armed forces’ commitment to safeguarding the nation. “We are fully dedicated to protecting every inch of our homeland,” he declared.

Tribal elders praised the role of law enforcement in maintaining peace and vowed to work alongside the government and military to preserve stability in the region.

Local leaders reaffirmed their trust in both the government and the Pakistani armed forces, commending the collective efforts of all parties and expressing optimism for continued progress toward regional peace and stability.
