Alaska plane crash claims all 10 lives; wreckage found near Nome

U.S. authorities have found the plane’s debris in Alaska, and they are assuming that all ten people on board are dead. While en route from Unalakleet to Nome, the Bering Air Caravan was reported as being overdue and was eventually located about 55 km away from the capital city.

Three victims were found in the debris, according to the U.S. Coast Guard, with the remaining seven dead supposedly within the aircraft but inaccessible because of its state. Officials determined that the crash was unsurvivable, but local search and rescue teams, with the help of the Alaska Air National Guard, are still working on recovery attempts.

The last confirmed location of the aircraft was over water in the isolated Norton Sound area, approximately forty minutes following departure. There has been a disturbing uptick in aviation mishaps recently, and this terrible event adds to the list of incidents that show how dangerous flying is in the United States.
