Lahore (Sports Desk): Young fast bowler Ubaid Shah of Lahore Qalandars said that playing alongside experienced bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mustafizur Rahman is a great honor for him, and he hopes to use the experience to further improve his game.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Ubaid Shah said that after stints with Islamabad United and Multan Sultans, it is encouraging to get an opportunity with Lahore Qalandars, where the team management and players, especially Thameen Rana and captain Shaheen Afridi, offer full support.
He added that with Afridi, Rauf, and Mustafizur in the lineup, Lahore Qalandars’ bowling attack has become one of the strongest in the Pakistan Super League.
Ubaid Shah further mentioned that captain Shaheen Afridi trusts him and often gives him the new-ball bowling, which he considers a matter of pride. He strives to perform his best for the team in every tournament and to establish himself as a top bowler.
The young fast bowler emphasized that he does not imitate any single bowler but tries to learn from all good bowlers. He also noted that T20 cricket is primarily a mental game, requiring bowlers to understand batters’ strategies and bowl accordingly. In modern cricket, batters have a wide array of shots, so bowlers must adapt to their mindset.
