Zurich (Sports Desk): FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that Iran’s football team will play its group matches in the United States as per the schedule. The Iranian team will begin its World Cup campaign on June 15 in Los Angeles.
The FIFA President expressed his happiness that Iran is participating in the World Cup, describing it as a strong and talented team.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump had raised concerns about Iran’s participation in the United States, stating that it would not be appropriate given the current circumstances. Additionally, Iran’s Sports Minister had last week advised the team against traveling to countries holding opposing stances toward Iran.
