Lahore (Sports Desk): Abrar Ahmed stated that his full attention is currently on enhancing his bowling effectiveness, while dedicating only a small amount of time to batting practice each day.
In an interview with a private TV channel, the Quetta Gladiators spinner said he collaborates closely with fellow bowler Usman Tariq, following a planned strategy to apply constant pressure on batters and create difficulties for them. He added that if opposing players adopt a defensive approach, his goal is to restrict their scoring opportunities and take wickets while keeping runs under control.
Abrar Ahmed emphasized that this season the team’s spin, fast bowling, and batting departments are all strong, and they are not only aiming to reach the final but are also hopeful of winning the title.
He noted that the inclusion of new teams has made the competition tougher and introduced several talented players, though over time, these new teams will also improve their performance.
Abrar also mentioned that frequently used pitches provide extra assistance to bowlers, especially spinners, and teams plan their strategies accordingly. Personally, he prefers to stick to his traditional style rather than experimenting with new techniques.
