Trump expresses commitment to buying and owning Gaza

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump mentioned that he’s all in on the idea of buying Gaza and allowing other countries to develop certain areas of it.

“I’m really focused on buying and owning Gaza,” Trump shared with reporters while on Air Force One heading to New Orleans, Louisiana.

He emphasized again that the Palestinian enclave is basically a demolition site and not livable.

They are quite dangerous. However, we’ll turn it into a fantastic location for someone to build in the future. We will allow other nations to develop portions of it. It will be lovely. We will care for the Palestinians, but anyone can come from all around the world to live there. We will ensure that they live in harmony, peace, and beauty and that they are not killed. “This has been the most hazardous place to live anywhere in the world,” he continued.

“I’d have to look,” Trump replied in response to a question about whether he would welcome Palestinian refugees to the US.

“They have a long way to go, in my opinion, but I’d have to consider each situation separately. However, I do believe that even though we’re bringing a lot of people into the United States, it’s a lengthy journey for them to get there.

“I think they’d be very happy staying in the general area with a place that was safe, where they could be safe and lead a good life,” he stated.

Trump also stated that he believes Egypt and Jordan, with support from other nations, will assist the Palestinians, who do not want to return to what is left of Gaza.

He said Saudi Arabia and other countries may invest in it.

“They are extremely wealthy. They’ll invest some funds to ensure people’s safety and comfort,” he continued.

Trump added that the US opposes Hamas, a Palestinian organization, operating in Gaza.Consider it a large piece of real estate that the United States will eventually purchase and develop—we’re not in a rush. He stated, “We bring stability to the Middle East and a completely war-torn region of the Middle East, a region that has caused tremendous problems, the Gaza Strip, and we will own it.”

In an unprecedented rebuilding plan that he suggested might transform the enclave into “the Riviera of the Middle East,” Trump declared on February 4 that Washington will “take over” Gaza and relocate Palestinians elsewhere. The Palestinians, Arab states, and numerous other countries throughout the world, including Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, strongly condemned his idea.
