There’s controversy surrounding the Young Stunners’ upcoming concerts in India

According to Rolling Stone India, Pakistan’s top rap duo, Young Stunners — consisting of rappers Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus — is set to tour India for the first time in December, with concerts scheduled in Mumbai on December 13, Bengaluru on December 21, and New Delhi on December 25, accompanied by producer Jokhay.

However, the rappers have not yet announced this tour on their social media, where they are currently sharing updates about their tours in Australia and Canada.

The concerts have hit a snag, as ticketing platform Skillbox delisted the Young Stunners’ events following backlash over past tweets in which the rappers mocked Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Skillbox emphasized its pride in being “Indian” and stated it would not support those who incite hate or violence against India. The platform also mentioned receiving personal attacks on team members as a reason for delisting the events, clarifying they were not promoters of the show.

Social media backlash includes calls to cancel the shows, with users condemning the rappers for their past tweets. One user on X criticized Talha, accusing him of writing tweets against Kashmir, mocking Abhinandan, and spewing hate against Modi, expressing shame that he is allowed to perform in India. Others shared similar sentiments.

Desi Disco Entertainment, the tour organizer, maintains that the concerts are still on, with registrations for the Mumbai show open on another website. Speaking to The Print, Desi Disco head Vaheed Khan claimed the outrage was part of a strategy to target the show after refusing collaborations with certain handles. Khan stated that many tweets are fake and unrelated to either Talha or Pakistan and assured that the show would go on despite the backlash.

Young Stunners have significant listener bases in Mumbai (152,583 monthly listeners) and New Delhi (245,000 monthly listeners) on Spotify.

Images has reached out to Young Stunners for official confirmation and is awaiting a response.
