Talha Waheed sets Guinness World Record for fastest Tennis serves

Pakistani tennis player Talha Waheed has achieved a new Guinness World Record by completing 59 successful serves in one minute, surpassing the previous record of 42 serves set by American tennis player John Perry in 2019.

Waheed, a seasoned competitor with an impressive track record in national and international matches, particularly in the 35+, 40+, and 45+ doubles categories, embarked on a rigorous three-month training regimen to prepare for this feat. His official attempt took place on November 8, 2024, in Lahore, Pakistan, adhering strictly to Guinness World Records guidelines.

On March 10, 2025, Waheed received official confirmation from Guinness World Records, declaring him the new world record holder. This accomplishment has been lauded by the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and its President, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, who stated, “Talha’s achievement is unique, and securing a place in the Guinness Book of World Records is no easy task. This will serve as a great inspiration and a major boost for tennis in Pakistan.”

Despite cricket’s dominance in Pakistan, this remarkable achievement highlights the potential and talent present in the country’s tennis community. It also underscores the dedication of athletes like Waheed, who continue to strive for excellence on the global stage.
