While sugar is priced at Rs130/kg during Ramadan, the government has given a subsidy of Rs20/kg. Meeting with provincial and federal leaders as well as sugar mill owners, this effort was agreed upon with the goal of reducing the financial strain on individuals during the holy month, which is anticipated to begin on March 1.
The Food Security Division’s final permission is sought by the Ministry of Industries and Production in order to facilitate this plan. Across the country, sugar will be sold in cheap bazaars and in large, medium, and small establishments. Customers can buy one- or two-kilogram bags of sugar, and they can buy no more than five kilograms per person after their CNICs have been checked.
You can buy sugar at a discounted price starting three days before Ramadan and ending on the 27th. It is the responsibility of the Cane Commissioner to keep an eye on prices and coordinate distribution across the four provinces to make sure everything runs well.
