Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the significance of Saudi Arabia in China’s diplomacy during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday, according to state media.
“China prioritizes the development of its relations with Saudi Arabia, particularly within the framework of its Middle East diplomacy,” Li stated.
He highlighted the mutual respect and trust between the two nations, emphasizing China’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia and deepening their partnership. Li also noted that both countries view each other’s growth as key opportunities for collaboration.
Crown Prince bin Salman praised the strong progress in Saudi-China relations, describing the two nations as reliable, comprehensive strategic partners.
Li arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday to co-chair the Fourth Meeting of the High-Level Chinese-Saudi Joint Committee with bin Salman.
Saudi Arabia is China’s second-largest oil supplier, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $106 billion last year.
