Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, its slimmest flagship smartphone ever, aiming to edge out Apple in the premium device segment. At just 5.8mm thick, the phone features a 6.7-inch display, upgraded AI capabilities, and a sleek design tailored for portability-conscious users.
The phone, which starts at $1,099 and will be available in 30 global markets, including China and some parts of Europe, is scheduled to launch on May 23 in South Korea and May 30 in the US. Samsung optimized internal hardware—like a redesigned vapor chamber and compact PCB—to maintain performance and avoid overheating despite its thin profile.
The S25 Edge supports multimodal AI, enabling seamless interaction through voice and visual inputs in real time. Analysts say the launch, coming ahead of Apple’s expected slimmer iPhone, is a tactical move to capture the thin-phone market first.
Samsung currently holds a narrow global market lead over Apple but warns of shipment risks in Q2 due to trade uncertainties.
