Government and private schools in Rawalpindi have introduced six new subject groups for Grade 9 in the 2025-26 academic session. Students promoted to Grade 9 now have more options to explore based on their interests and future goals.
The new groups include Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Health Science, Agriculture, Fashion Designing, and Arts. To help students choose, schools are providing detailed group descriptions with admission forms. Students are encouraged to consult with their parents before deciding, with a three-day window to make their final selections.
Each subject group consists of five mandatory courses common to all streams, including Quran translation, English, Urdu, Islamiat, and Pakistan Studies. Beyond these, specific courses cater to each specialization. For instance, the Natural Sciences group includes Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, while the Agriculture group offers Agricultural Science alongside other science subjects.
This expansion aims to diversify educational opportunities, fostering skills that align with modern career demands and encouraging students to pursue fields they are passionate about.
