Rain forecast in Sindh this week as heatwave continues, warns PMD

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that a fresh western weather system is expected to bring rainfall to parts of Sindh between May 2 and May 3. This system is predicted to impact northern regions of the country starting May 1, extending through May 5, with widespread rain expected in upper Pakistan and scattered showers in Sindh.

Despite the incoming rain, high temperatures will persist in Sindh. Karachi, in particular, is forecast to remain hot and humid, with strong winds expected in the next 48 hours. The ongoing heatwave continues to affect much of the province.

The PMD has urged citizens to exercise caution—especially during peak daylight hours—by staying hydrated, minimizing sun exposure, and taking heat-related health risks seriously.

Elsewhere, the weather across Pakistan will remain largely dry and hot in the immediate future. The most intense heat is expected in the central and southern regions of the country.

  • Karachi: 29°C
  • Peshawar: 19°C
  • Quetta & Muzaffarabad: 18°C
