Punjab Police ramped up security measures across the province, including Lahore, during Christian prayer services on Sunday. Acting on directives from Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, high-ranking officers personally monitored arrangements around churches and sensitive areas.
Additional personnel, including Elite teams, Dolphin Squad, and PRU units, were deployed at key locations, ensuring constant patrolling. Snipers were stationed at sensitive sites, while search and sweep operations were carried out around churches and Christian residential areas.
The IG Punjab urged religious leaders, the Christian community, and peace committees to actively promote interfaith harmony, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in fostering unity.
