Punjab launches ‘Apni Zameen Apna Ghar’ scheme: Free 3-marla plots for low-income families

Overview:
The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has introduced the ‘Apni Zameen Apna Ghar’ program, aiming to provide free 3-marla housing plots to low-income and homeless citizens across the province. The initial phase of the initiative will allocate 1,892 plots among 23 housing projects spanning 19 districts.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Permanent residency in Punjab, verified by CNIC.
  • Application within their native district.
  • The applicant, their spouse, and dependent children possess no ownership of property in Pakistan.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Not in default with any banking or financial entity.
  • Monthly household income less than Rs50,000.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, with a preference given to those who are married.

Application Process:

  • Submit required documents: CNICs, proof of Punjab residency, NADRA family registration certificate, income verification, and NSER verification.
  • No application fee is required.

Additional Information:

Applicants who are successful are required to initiate construction within a six-month timeframe and to finalize it within a period of two years.

The allotted plot cannot be sold, transferred, or leased for a minimum of five years.

Failure to adhere to construction time frames or building guidelines may result in the removal of the allotment.
